you may have probelm..you may have to go to dell's site and look for a driver update and or bios update for the sata drives......brand name systems some times have trouble reading new stuff like that ..due to the custom user packs they include some times in the chips sets

chaos look what chipset ure mother board has and searchet on the net , or look very carefull in the cd and u may see a folder in wich u must found folders like (msi,via,gigabite,......) and then by models and make a disk with them .

this is one of the reason I stay away from name brand name computers... they write there own crap into the chipsets and software... can make it hard to use 3rd party stuff and upgrades...oh my god...good luck with upgrades easier to put your head through a metal bank vault

chaos , install a progam "Everest Home Edition " some how on ure pc and see that dam chip set.

A techie at a tech support forum told me to try slipstreaming SP2 in with my XP install... that's what im trying to do now. But im on dial-up, so im waiting to get SP2 from a friend.
